Starting June 12, 2025, Delta Air Lines begins a year-round daily nonstop flight between Salt Lake City (SLC) and Seoul (ICN). This opens up one-stop travel from Salt Lake City to dozens of North Asian and Southeast Asian destinations, including Denpasar, Bali.

SLC-ICN is open for advance bookings on delta.com, with SkyMiles redemption starting at 86,000 miles roundtrip (+$42) for sample dates searched in September 2025. The lowest nonstop roundtrip fare on Delta’s website is currently $2057 in Basic Economy (Sep 10-22, 2025).

Outbound DL173 has a scheduled flight time of 13 hours and 15 minutes, departing Salt Lake City at 11:05am MDT and arriving Seoul Incheon at 3:20pm KST (+1). This saves 4h15 compared with connecting in Seattle on Delta, or 3h10 compared with connecting in San Francisco on United Airlines.

Of special note is the easy connection to Denpasar, Bali, on Korean Air. KE 629 (DL 7872) departs Incheon at 5:50pm KST and arrives Denpasar at 11:50pm WITA. This one-stop connection offers a total travel time of 22h45 from Salt Lake City to Bali (departing SLC at 11:05am and arriving Denpasar at 11:50pm WITA +1). This is a savings of 6 hours or more compared to connecting via Seattle and Taipei on Alaska Airlines and China Airlines or EVA Air.

Inaugural flights Depart in both directions on June 12, 2025

DL 172, the eastbound flight from Seoul to Salt Lake City, is technically the first flight on the new route, departing at 7:40pm KST (4:40am MDT) on June 12, 2025, and arriving Salt Lake City the same day at 4:15pm. The inaugural outbound flight, DL 173, will depart Salt Lake City at 11:05am MDT, which means the two A350-900s might pass each other somewhere off the coast of British Columbia.

The timing of the flights suggest that Delta will use the same aircraft for the SLC-ICN-SLC turn but reposition its A350-900 aircraft upon arrival back in Salt Lake City, rather than let it sit idle overnight.
