This one-stop connection offers a total travel time of 22h45 from Salt Lake City to Bali (departing SLC at 11:05am and arriving Denpasar at 11:50pm WITA +1). This is a savings of 6 hours or more compared to connecting via Seattle and Taipei on Alaska Airlines and China Airlines or EVA Air.
Inaugural flights Depart in both directions on June 12, 2025
DL 172, the eastbound flight from Seoul to Salt Lake City, is technically the first flight on the new route, departing at 7:40pm KST (4:40am MDT) on June 12, 2025, and arriving Salt Lake City the same day at 4:15pm. The inaugural outbound flight, DL 173, will depart Salt Lake City at 11:05am MDT, which means the two A350-900s might pass each other somewhere off the coast of British Columbia.
The timing of the flights suggest that Delta will use the same aircraft for the SLC-ICN-SLC turn but reposition its A350-900 aircraft upon arrival back in Salt Lake City, rather than let it sit idle overnight.
Using Delta SkyMiles to Fly from Salt Lake City to Seoul
At the time of posting, Delta SkyMiles members could use SkyMiles to fly on the inaugural SLC-ICN segment on June 12, 2025. The Main cabin was open for redemption at 130,000 miles one way, or 110,500 miles for Delta SkyMiles American Express Card Members (a 15% savings).
To fly from Albuquerque to ICN via SLC on June 12, 2025, SkyMiles redemption was lower: 110,000 for Main cabin, or 93,500 for SkyMiles American Express Card Members.
